About BasedTrip
BasedTrip is a street-level travel guide. It helps you choose the right part of a city before you look at places to stay.
Why the area comes first
Neighbourhood guides are often too broad, and hotel lists start too late in the decision. Two buildings in the same named neighbourhood can give you very different trips.
How a guide is built
We describe areas at a size you can decide on: a corridor, a cluster of squares, a waterfront edge or a few connected blocks. Each one has who it suits, who should skip it, the catch and how to get around, with the public sources behind it. How we choose areas explains the rules.
The cities so far
BasedTrip grows one city at a time. There are 7 city guides covering 28 areas. Barcelona was the first city and has the most guides: an article for each area, guides by kind of trip and side-by-side comparisons. Every other city starts with a where-to-stay guide built the same way. See all destinations.
