Sources and updates

Every area in every city guide has a visible set of public sources. This is what we consulted, when we checked it and where it is used.

Barcelona was the first city and has the deepest data. Its four areas are also published as a JSON dataset with an OpenAPI description.

Barcelona area dataset

Who each area suits is our editorial judgement. The sources support the place, transport and public-space context behind it.

Verdi corridorEditorial pocket: Carrer de Verdi between Travessera de Gràcia and Plaça de la Virreina, with nearby Plaça del Diamant and Plaça de la Revolució.Repeat visitorsGràcia’s social life concentrates around its squares. That character is the point, but it also means this is not a uniformly hushed pocket.4 public sources24 Aug 2026
Consell de CentEditorial pocket: the central Eixample blocks around Passeig de Gràcia and Consell de Cent, extending only to the adjacent chamfered blocks.First Barcelona tripConvenience and landmark access come with a more formal, commercial city-center atmosphere.3 public sources24 Aug 2026
Born edgeEditorial pocket: Passeig del Born, Santa Maria del Mar and the lanes reaching toward Via Laietana—not the whole of Ciutat Vella.Short culture-heavy staysThe same compact medieval fabric that creates atmosphere can make navigation, luggage arrival and block-by-block sleep conditions less predictable.3 public sources24 Aug 2026
Poblenou ramblaEditorial pocket: Rambla del Poblenou from the Pere IV area toward the sea, plus the immediately adjoining blocks.Beach and city balanceYou gain a stronger neighborhood-and-coast rhythm but accept regular metro or taxi trips to the historic center.3 public sources24 Aug 2026

A checked date records when we last read the source. It does not move when the site is redeployed. Transport disruptions and conditions at a specific building need their own live check.
